At Greenspring, combining energy efficiency with solar electric systems to permanently reduce your utility bills, has been our goal since the beginning. Many of our customers who have installed a solar electric system in conjunction to employing energy efficiency products have lowered their bills to around $30 a month.
When we talk about energy efficiency we mean using less energy to provide the same service. It’s not just eliminating or cutting back on the electricity, gas or water you use, but rather getting more value from the resources you do consume by deploying innovative products and solutions to keep you comfortable and meet your needs.
Efficiency is always our goal, it’s what sets us apart from other solar providers.
Here are a few examples:
- When you add insulation or use air-sealing to tighten your building envelope, you are reducing the amount of heating and air conditioning needed to keep your indoor space comfortable, because less is wasted.
- Replacing heat-producing, electricity-draining incandescent light bulbs with LED light bulbs is more efficient; you’re getting the same light with far less energy.
- When you replace an appliance, such as a refrigerator or clothes washer, computer or printer with a more energy-efficient model, the new equipment provides the same service while using less energy. This saves you money on your energy bill and reduces the amount of greenhouse gases going into the atmosphere.
- When you replace an outdated single-pane window in your home with a more energy-efficient design, the new window prevents heat from escaping in the winter, so you save energy by using your furnace or electric heater less while still staying comfortable. In the summer, those efficient windows keep the heat out, allowing your air conditioner to run less often and keep your space just as cool.
- Installing low-flow water shower-heads or aerators will maintain water pressure while reducing water consumption, and lower water heating costs.
