Greenspring Energy offers annual maintenance programs to ensure your solar energy system or tankless water heater is working as efficiently as possible throughout the year. These programs are designed to ensure optimal performance of your system year after year. Greenspring Energy will inspect and fix any normal wear and tear items that are part of your system. These maintenance programs are designed to extend the life of your system, maintain peak efficiency, generate higher energy yields, and greater energy savings.
During a maintenance program visit, Greenspring Energy will perform the following for Solar Electric systems:
- Inspect and fix solar racking mounting hardware
- Inspect and fix weather seals on mounting hardware
- Inspect and fix any penetrations for wiring
- Inspect and fix solar module connections on the roof behind panels
- Clean solar modules to ensure optimal performance
- Inspect and fix wiring connections in inverter and A/C and D/C disconnects
- Check energy production of the system to ensure the energy yield is in line with expectations
- Check voltage output of DC array
For Solar Thermal systems, Greenspring Energy will perform the following:
- Inspect and fix any clips and clamps that hold solar collectors to the roof
- Inspect and fix weather seals on the roof and flashing
- Clean thermal collectors
- Check plumbing connections
- Check expansion tanks and solar station fittings
- Check flow rate and pressure of Glycol system
- pH test of propylene glycol to ensure it has not broken down
- Check hot water production of the system to ensure that it’s in line with expectations
- Review settings on solar controller
- Inspect anode rods in tank
- Flush sediment at tank bottom
For Tankless Water Heaters, Greenspring Energy will perform the following:
- Check venting seals
- Inspect combustion chamber connections
- Flush and clean inlet filter and calcium cleaning
- Check intake plenum and fan motor
- Monitor water temperature accuracy
- Check fault code history
