How It All Began
Greenspring Energy was founded in 2007 at the onset of electricity deregulation in the Mid-Atlantic utility markets. Home and business owners faced an 86% rate increase over the next few years with no real solution to take control of their utility costs. It became more apparent that volatile energy costs, frequent utility outages and grid dependence were not going to disappear. Greenspring Energy was the first company in the Mid-Atlantic to help customers break away from their utility company and start taking control of their energy bills by offering a unique combination of solar electric, solar thermal and energy efficiency technologies.
